Allen Fogle

 

Originally from Augusta, GA, Allen earned his BM in Horn Performance at the Eastman School of Music with Peter Kurau. In May of 2010, Allen will receive his MM in Horn Performance from the University of Southern California studying with Jim Thatcher.

Having performed with several major orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, and the Rochester Philharmonic, Allen is currently a freelancer in the Los Angeles area and plays with a number of regional orchestras. He is the Associate Principal/3rd Horn of the American Youth Symphony, performing regular concerts with other young professionals in the area.

In addition to orchestral playing, he is an active member in the Los Angeles recording industry for film and television, with his most recent performance being on the soundtrack for "The Wolfman." He can also be heard on recordings with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Canadian Brass, and the Eastman Wind Ensemble. He performed on the album "Elevation: The Music of Patrick Williams," released on Concord Records, which was nominated for two Grammys® in 2007.

He is an active chamber music performer, most recently performing the Brahms Horn Trio at Music Under the Stars Chamber Music Festival in 2009. He also performs with the USC Scholarship Brass Quintet, giving concerts at various venues throughout Los Angeles.

Allen performs exclusively on Conn 8Ds. He aspires to one day become a Conn Artist.

Allen is a KBHC alumnus and is looking forward to his third year on staff.  He enjoys ping-pong, mountain biking, long tones, and movie music.
